My friend’s had been taking care of a couple of strays in their neighborhood when a small group of black and white cats showed up at their back door. They started feeding them and proceeded to have all the cats vetted and adopted out, all except this extremely intelligent and soulful male which they had named Monroe. He obviously loved being in their backyard, getting three meals a day and lots of attention, however he showed little interest in coming inside.

Are you impressed by my agility and balance?

That all changed last summer when I was visiting and Monroe decided to follow me inside the house and proceeded to sit with me on the couch like it was all routine…my friends, who became his official pet parents, were in awe. Monroe, aka Tori’s cat because I was the one who brought him in, got a wonderful home and now I get to cat sit for him whenever my friends are on holiday.
