There is nothing better than a good book or a good book about cats. I have read a lot in the feline genre over the years and hope to compile a list of titles here that I recommend. I will continue to add to this list as I read new titles and old favorites come to mind.
- A Street Cat Named Bob – James Bowen
- The World According To Bob – James Bowen
- Making Rounds With Oscar – Dr. David Dosa
- Lost Cat A True Story of Love, Desperation and GPS Technology – Caroline Paul
- Dewey The Library Cat: A True Story – Vicki Myron with Bret Witter
- How to Tell if Your Cat is Plotting to Kill You – The Oatmeal
Big Cats
- Born Free, Living Free, Forever Free, The Spotted Sphinx, Pippa’s Challenge, Queen of Shaba – Joy Adamson (some of these may or may not be in print anymore and/or hard to find but so worth reading if you can get your hands on copies!)
- My Life With Leopards Graham Cooke’s Story – Fransje van Riel
- Heart of a Lion: A Lone Cat’s Walk Across America – William Stolzenburg
- When Mountain Lions Are Neighbors: People and Wildlife Working It Out in California – Beth Pratt-Bergstrom
- The Big Cat Man: An Autobiography – Jonathan Scott
- Yellow Eyes – Rutherford George Montgomery
Wildlife Conservation
- The Subjugation of Canadian Wildlife: Failures of Principle and Policy – Max Foran
That “Cats and Books” illustration is cute. Do you know the name of the artist?
I actually don’t know I found it a while ago…The signature on the bottom says Ms Cat 2012…I think. I wish I knew as it would be good to credit. 😦
May I suggest “Dewey, The Library Cat Who Changed the World”? If you have read it, please do – it is wonderful! Here’s a link.
